Six Sigma Yellow Belt/Awareness Training

Challenge

Are all workers supportive of your improvement initiatives?  Can they be called upon to help you achieve the business results you desire?

Key to any change effort is effective communications.   If people know what you are trying to change, why the change is necessary, how the change will affect them, and what they need to do to help, they will be more likely to support rather than resist your efforts.

A Six Sigma initiative requires communications to all employees to ensure its overall success.  We recommend this communication begin after the initial training and projects have been completed and the program has gained some momentum.  This allows for real improvement examples and results to be sprinkled into the sessions to demonstrate how Six Sigma is being applied to your organization.  This makes it real and gives it credibility.

Solution

DeBaylo Associates’ half-day awareness session gives employees an understanding of Six Sigma and how it supports the organization’s value system and long-term objectives.  Participants will also learn how they might support the effort and participate in the future.

Approach

The purpose of this course is to educate students on what Six Sigma is, why it is being implemented and how it will affect them.  The course provides an overview of the Six Sigma philosophies, strategies and tactics. This includes a description of who is presently involved, a summary of initial successes, and a list of the types of projects that have been chartered.

An overview of the DMAIC improvement model will be presented, as well as a description of some of the process and statistical analysis tools that are being used.  This is particularly important since employees may be asked to participate in data collection or analysis activities, or to assist in implementing solutions in their work area or that will require their expertise.

Finally, Six Sigma rollout plans will be presented.  This will include a discussion of the deployment structure, review process, communication strategy, and ways every employee can get involved.
